Treat Taste Test

February 23rd was a magical day in my house. Well at least according to amateur taste tester and resident doggo Sabrina. She got to taste test five different brands of treats and ranked them from best to still edible.

The five biscuits I got were

Blue Buffalo (Pumpkin and Cinnamon)
Buddy Biscuits (Peanut Butter)
Blue Dog Bakery (Peanut Butter and Molasses)
Nudges (Chicken, Peanut Butter, Apples)
Three Dog Bakery (Carob and Peanut Butter)

I started by setting a biscuit of each in a row. She was very confused at what I was doing and even more confused when I sat them down in front of her. Usually she only gets a treat before bed so at first she didn’t go for any of them (good girl!).

After a quick sniff test and some reassurance from me she went after her first one which was the Buddy Biscuit. I broke off a piece of it, which she ate with glee. Each time she finished one I would have her sniff them all again to make sure her choice was clear. The first two were easy choices while the remaining three she took a little longer deliberating.

When the last cookie had crumbled she was left with a happy belly and I was left with some new knowledge. One of the new things I learned is that it even though she might have a preference she will still eat anything. I also thought she would choose what was familiar to her. I have gotten the Three Dog Bakery and Blue Buffalo ones before. I was quite surprised when she chose others before them. The best part thing I learned was what her favorite one is so I can spoil her in the future and not get something that she doesn’t like all that much.

The final order turned out to be

1. Buddy Biscuits
2. Three Dog Bakery
3. Nudges
4. Blue Buffalo
5. Blue Dog Bakery
